Working at SERI: Irina Mayer
Gain insight into the work of SERI: Irina Mayer is a digital communication specialist.
What do you do exactly?
I work in the Communication Unit and handle our State Secretariat's multilingual social media presence. I also ensure that internal communication via our intranet runs smoothly. My tasks also include organising and conducting photo and video shoots at SERI. Finally, I help maintain and update our website.
What do you like about your work in particular?
What I find particularly interesting about my work is the combination of creative and technical tasks. My area of responsibility is constantly evolving. There are always changes, so the work is never monotonous. I also appreciate the dynamic working environment and the opportunity to work with colleagues and partners both inside and outside the organisation. Another exciting aspect of my work is that, in addition to day-to-day tasks, I also work on longer-term projects – no two weeks are ever the same.
What challenges do you expect in the near future?
A number of challenges loom on the horizon. These include relaunching our website and migrating to a new system, an undertaking that will require extensive adjustments to our existing content and structure. Because my line of work is constantly changing, I also have to undergo additional training and remain flexible. Moreover, we will be producing more videos, which need to be carefully planned and produced.
